Considerable progress has been made with a group of investment projects in the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province.

A key project in the province, the construction of an international smart logistics port area in the zone, has achieved a great deal since it was completed.

In its first two months of operations, it received and unloaded 12 freight ships, with a cumulative unloading capacity of 523,700 metric tons.

Liang Tao, deputy general manager of the operator, attributed the achievement to the high-quality service being provided by the Jingjiang development zone.

As a major player in the ship and vehicle electromechanical products manufacturing industry, Jingjiang became the first of its kind to build an aviation parts surface treatment center in the province, which has helped it attract an investment project worth 11 billion yuan ($1.5 billion).

According to Sun Hao, head of the business invitations bureau, the zone has been pushing hard to attract industry leaders to move there and expand their operations.

As a direct result, the area was included on the list of China's top 100 development zones for high-quality growth in 2023.

According to the list, which was released by the Ministry of Commerce, it ranked 98th – 12 places higher than the previous year. That performance meant it made it to the Top 100 list for the first time.
