Improved logistics help Jingjiang vitalize rural economy

In Jingjiang, a county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province, it is common to see parcels and passengers sharing scheduled buses as they head to towns and villages in rural areas.

Thanks to these buses' joining the rural logistics system, villagers there can get their items purchased online at their doorway, instead of going back and forth.

It is part of the city's efforts to improve the rural logistics system and promote the coordinated development of the urban and rural logistics networks.

To boost rural logistics services, the city's transportation and commerce bureaus pooled various resources with other governmental departments.

China Post's branch in Jingjiang initiated an alliance of express brands, which helps realize coverage of logistics stations in all villages. The direct delivery rate of major express delivery brands in all administrative villages has reached 100 percent.

Jingjiang has launched an e-commerce logistics warehousing and distribution center, an e-commerce entrepreneurship center, three municipal-level logistics centers, 13 town-level logistics stations, and 181 village-level logistics spots.

Such convenient logistics services not only enable villagers to mail and receive parcels, but also change their shopping habits. Ranging from daily necessities to home applications, they get used to purchasing them from e-commerce platforms.

In addition, the improved logistics services also help local farmers expand the sales channels of their agricultural products.
