Jingjiang was abuzz with various traditional cultural activities during the Spring Festival holiday, offering locals and visitors an immersive experience of Chinese New Year festivities.
From the second to fifth day of the Year of the Snake, a cultural market took center stage at the Jingjiang Cultural Center.
Ten stalls showcased creative products and intangible cultural heritage items, such as paper-cutting, bamboo weaving, and lacquer fans, and visitors were eager to explore these timeless traditions.
Meanwhile, the Jingjiang Library hosted festive activities that integrated intellectual fun with cultural charm. Visitors explored Spring Festival folklore by guessing riddles, making intangible cultural heritage crafts, and enjoying traditional performances.
The celebrations extended to Xinqiao town, where families embraced the holiday spirit through interactive experiences. Children and their parents bonded over making dumplings, tanghulu (sugar-coated fruit on a stick), and intangible cultural heritage handicrafts.
In addition, Shengci town unveiled a series of cultural and creative products inspired by local landscapes, landmarks, and historical figures. From elegant folding fans and tea sets to canvas bags, these items seamlessly merged aesthetics and practicality with the city's unique cultural identity.
To celebrate the upcoming Lantern Festival, Jingjiang is set to host a series of traditional festivities such as crafting lanterns and solving lantern riddles.
