A research and development achievement from China Construction Science and Industry Construction Limited's Jiangsu branch, a Jingjiang-based company located in the Jiangyin-Jingjiang Industrial Park, was recently granted a patent in the United States, following the company's previous international patent authorization from Algeria's patent office.

In recent years, CSCEC Jiangsu has placed a strong emphasis on technological innovation and intellectual property protection. This time, the patented technology is titled "Robotic Welding Device Employing Flexible Guide Rail and Welding Method".

The research team miniaturized the robot's overall structure, making it easier to transport and operate in high and confined spaces.

This small welding robot can automatically detect parameters such as steel plate thickness, weld size, and bevel angle through contact sensing. It then searches the suitable welding process parameters from a pre-stored database of various welding methods, enabling it to perform automatic multi-layer and multi-pass welding of the joint.

The team also designed a flexible walking track that accommodates arc welds with a bending diameter greater than 1.2 meters. This design expands the robot's applicability and addresses the limitation of traditional small welding robots, which often cannot adapt to welding arc-shaped components.

This research achievement has been successfully implemented at several locations, including Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, and Songjiang South Railway Station in Shanghai.
