Construction on the main structure of the 400-megawatt offshore photovoltaic project by China General Nuclear Power Group in Yantai, Shandong province, supported by technical expertise from Jiangsu Shuangjiang Energy Co based in Jingjiang, was recently completed.

As China's first large-scale nearshore pile-fixed offshore PV project, it has set multiple national records for offshore PV construction and marks a major breakthrough in Shuangjiang Energy's self-developed deep natural ester insulation oil technology.

With a total installed capacity of 400MW and covering over 800,000 square meters of sea area, the project is expected to generate 690 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, which is enough to meet the annual clean energy needs of approximately 400,000 households.

The project ensures stable equipment operation in harsh environments faced with salt spray, high humidity, and extreme temperature fluctuations, significantly enhancing climate adaptability and reliability.

Meanwhile, it employs eco-friendly materials with a 98-percent biodegradability rate – nearly a thousand times more environmentally efficient than traditional mineral oil. The insulation system alone reduces carbon emissions by 15 percent, balancing power generation efficiency with environmental protection.

According to one employee, Shuangjiang Energy is accelerating the application of this technology in scenarios like liquid-cooled energy storage and offshore wind power, having developed mature solutions for 180MW to 400MW-scale projects.
