Lloyd's Register (China) Co Jingjiang branch relocated to the port-shipping-trade center of Jingjiang, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 28, making it the first enterprise to operate within the newly established center.
"Choosing this center with fully equipped facility represents a key strategic move for deepening our roots in the Chinese market," said Ma Qi, the company's chief surveyor and general manager of newbuilding.
"The center is within a 30-minute commute of major clients like New Times Shipbuilding, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and Asia Star Anchor Chain, enhancing our service efficiency," added Ma.
Since January, the company has provided services for over 20 new vessels and more than 3,000 marine components, with Jingjiang-based clients accounting for 60 percent of business volume.
It will strengthen local service capabilities, focusing on technical development for clean-energy vessels (LNG dual-fuel, methanol, and ammonia-powered), while also offering smart shipyard solutions to drive digital transformation and industry upgrading.
Seven other organizations, including Gaztransport and Technigaz (Shanghai) Co, Marine Design and Research Institute of China, and Jingjiang Sinotrans Shipping Agency Co, have already signed agreements to establish operations within the center.
