A career-focused exploration event held in Jingjiang from Aug 21 to 22 saw over 50 university students from the cities of Shanghai, Changzhou, and Jingjiang explore local employment opportunities.
Students visited local leading enterprises such as New Times Shipbuilding, Sprint Precision Technologies (Jiangsu), and Jiangsu Donghua Testing Technology, gaining firsthand exposure to the city's dynamic industrial development.
"Jingjiang's companies, from aerospace to marine engineering, truly showcase the city's industrial vitality. There is tremendous potential for building a career here," said Deng Hao, a senior student at the Shanghai Institute of Technology.
The event also included a visit to the soup dumpling museum, where students learned traditional techniques such as dough rolling, filling preparation, and pleating. They experienced the craftsmanship behind Jingjiang's crab-roe soup dumplings, a local intangible cultural heritage item.
At the Jingjiang public vocational training center, students learned about the city's outcomes in industry-education integration and explored diverse career pathways.
The Yangtze River Culture Hall at the Jingjiang Cultural Center offered an immersive journey through a panoramic exhibition tracing the river's origins, highlighting Jingjiang's profound connection to the waterway's ecological and cultural legacy.
"Returning to my hometown with classmates allowed me to appreciate Jingjiang's urban development, economic growth, and cultural achievements from a new perspective. I'm confident in its future," said Liu An, a student born in Jingjiang.
