In celebration of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, Li's Mooncake, a time-honored bakery in Jishi town, Jingjiang, has accelerated production to meet surging customer demand recently.
"This year's production started half a month earlier than last year, with daily sales continuously rising. We are now making 5,000 to 6,000 mooncakes daily," said Li Yong, owner of the family-operated shop.
In recent years, annual sales have approached 200,000 mooncakes, according to Li.
His father handcrafted mooncakes for over three decades, steadfastly preserving traditional techniques. Since taking over the business, Li has strictly adhered to every procedural standard established by his father.
Despite the labor-intensive process, from selecting raw materials and balancing filling ratios to controlling baking duration, the authentic flavor remains highly popular among customers, even attracting bulk orders from major supermarkets.
