A new section of the Hungary-Serbia railway, constructed with help from China State Construction Engineering Group (CSCEG), based in Jingjiang, Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has commenced operations, connecting the Serbian cities of Novi Sad and Subotica.

This milestone completes the Serbian segment of the Hungary-Serbia railway, reducing travel time from the capital Belgrade to the border city Subotica from over five hours to just 79 minutes.

At the inauguration ceremony, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic praised Chinese builders for their exceptional skills in creating the steel artery that strengthens the friendship between China and Serbia.

The Hungary-Serbia railway is China's first high-speed rail project in Europe. Spanning 341.7 kilometers, it links Budapest, Hungary, in the north with Belgrade, Serbia, in the south.
