In 2025, the total value of import and export trade in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province, reached a new high of 55.6 billion yuan ($8 billion), an increase of 5.25 percent compared to 2024. Exports showed particularly strong growth, increasing by 6.79 percent to 47.6 billion yuan.
Ship exports, Jingjiang's top priority when it comes to foreign trade, have played a pivotal role in the growth. Statistics showed that in 2025, the export of ships and floating structures in the city reached nearly 36.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of over 12 percent.
Industries such as health, new energy, and optoelectronics also maintained stable development.

Private enterprises have played a leading role in foreign trade growth, with the number of private enterprises in the city which are engaged in imports and exports increasing by more than 20 percent year-on-year.
A large number of food production enterprises expanded abroad. In 2025, there were seven newly registered food exporters in the city, the highest number in recent years.
