The Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in 1992 and received provincial-level approval in 1993. In recognition of its growth and potential, the State Council elevated the zone to the status of a national-level economic and technological development zone in 2012.
The zone spans a planned area of 113.237 square kilometers. It forms a "one zone, four industrial parks" layout, comprising the Headquarters, Chengnan Industrial Park, Chengbei Industrial Park, and Xinqiao Industrial Park.
The Headquarters in the Jingjiang ETDZ drives growth in high-end equipment manufacturing and modern port logistics, focusing on high-tech shipbuilding, aerospace, advanced metal materials, integrated equipment, and semiconductor industries.
Chengnan Industrial Park is dedicated to fostering new energy, intelligent manufacturing, and new business models, striving to establish itself as a pioneer zone for high-quality development and a model area for high-quality living.
Chengbei Industrial Park concentrates on four key clusters: digitalized automotive components manufacturing, electronic new materials, equipment production of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, as well as smart motor and electrical manufacturing.
Xinqiao Industrial Park specializes in advanced metal materials, petrochemical environmental protection equipment, new energy synthetic bio-equipment, and marine engineering equipment.
In 2024, Jingjiang ETDZ achieved a regional GDP of 84.48 billion yuan ($11.7 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 7.9 percent. The general public budget revenue was recorded at 2.547 billion yuan, reflecting an 8.6 percent growth compared to the previous year.
