Leading enterprises and fast-growing companies in the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Taizhou have ramped up project implementation and capacity since September, fueling quick growth in key industries like high-tech shipbuilding and new metal materials.
Jiangsu New Times Shipbuilding is speeding up its shift towards producing high-end, green vessels in the shipbuilding sector.
The company is intensifying development of low-carbon ship designs and new technologies, with vessels powered by new energy now making up 60 percent of its order backlog. It is also expected that annual invoiced sales will exceed 20 billion yuan ($2.8 billion).
Since launching its first Everllence marine engine in June, Duokai Power Machinery has manufactured and delivered seven marine engines, generating over 200 million yuan in output value within two months.
In the new metal materials sector, several enterprises within the Qingshan (Jingjiang) Stainless Steel Deep Processing Industrial Park, including Yongjin Metal Technology Co, Jingjiang Zhengli Industrial Co, and Xiangrui Stainless Steel Precision Wire (Jingjiang), have consistently expanded their production capacities.
The biomedical sector reached another milestone when Jland Biotech received a production license in September, enabling this enterprise to manufacture Class II medical devices including dressings and freeze-dried products.
This follows the cosmetics production license obtained in May, indicating that all production lines are now fully operational. Once operating at full capacity, the facility will manufacture 100 million cosmetic items and 50 million medical dressing products each year.
