Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – held a ceremony on Nov 1 to celebrate the city's decision to nominate that date every year as Taixing Entrepreneur Day.
The launch of Entrepreneur Day aims to show respect for resident entrepreneurs in the name of Taixing and to acknowledge their contributions to the city's development.
A raft of activities led by 11 Taixing local government departments will be conducted throughout November to help local enterprises improve their business and reduce various burdens.
During the launch ceremony, a policy paper was released called The Opinions on Promoting High-Quality Development of the Real Economy in Taixing City.
One highlight of the paper is that Taixing city will offer an annual special fund of 200 million yuan ($27.35 million) to support the development of new industrialization, the modern services industry, innovation-driven development, foreign trade, high-quality enterprises, company share market listings and talent recruitment and training.
Furthermore, Taixing will continue to refine its policies to support and benefit enterprises – promoting the innovation, transformation, and growth of businesses, said Liu Wenrong, mayor of Taixing.
Currently, Taixing is home to over 40,000 enterprises, including 825 manufacturers above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more.
