Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – has rolled out an array of measures designed to improve the happiness and convenience of its residents.

In terms of transport, Taixing has moved to smooth its rural roads, making it far easier for locals to travel. In one such project, the southern extension of Zhenhai Road – stretching 10.1 kilometers and starting at the intersection of Provincial Road 334 and ending at the Jingtai Boundary River – opened to traffic at the end of 2023. That linked the city's urban area and pathways crossing rivers.

Last year, Taixing finished the upgrade of 100 km of rural roads, the renovation of 20 dangerous bridges and the construction of 100 km of security engineering projects. This further enhanced the safety and traffic capacity of its rural roads.

Over the past year, Taixing has improved the layout of basic support facilities catering to the needs of its people. It renovated 14 roads, including Gulou Road and Guoqing Road, added 7 km of sewage pipes and renovated 10 km of rainwater and sewage pipes.

Taixing also added 1,159 parking spaces, 152 new energy vehicle charging spaces and planned 2,000 urban road parking spaces last year to alleviate people's parking difficulties.
