A signing ceremony for an inorganic non-metallic materials industry project costing 1.57 billion yuan ($219.69 million), to be based in Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province, recently took place.
The project is being funded and will be operated by Jiangsu Zhongdan Group, headquartered in Hongqiao Industrial Park in Taixing.
The project is seen as a crucial step for the group to target the third-generation of semiconductors – featuring silicon carbide – and actively build a complete new material industry supply chain.
On completion, the plant will have the capacity to produce 2 million metric tons of quartz sand for photovoltaic glass, 9,000 tons of high-purity graphite powder and 50 million pieces of graphite film die-cutting products annually.
This is expected to generate industrial invoiced sales of 2 billion yuan per annum.
Founded in 1980, the Jiangsu Zhongdan Group is mainly engaged in the research, development and manufacturing of fine chemicals products and new chemicals materials.
It has formed major industrial facilities to produce pesticides and intermediates, feed and food additives, new materials, daily chemicals and functional chemicals.
In recent years, the group has continued to increase R&D investment and talent recruitment programs, actively laying out new tracks to cultivate commercial advantages.
