Students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, located in East China's Shanghai, toured Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province through a "weekend experience express" event on March 28-30.
Exploring things like industrial research, rural vitalization and cultural experiences enabled the students to experience the charms and development vitality of the city.
On the afternoon of March 29, the students visited some benchmark enterprises in Taixing, learning about the city's innovative achievements in biopharmaceuticals and high-end manufacturing.
At the premises of Jumpcan Pharmaceutical Group, they were impressed by its integration of fully automated production lines and by the traditional Chinese medicine culture exhibition hall.
Afterwards, at GEM (Jiangsu) Cobalt Industry, the visitors were given a briefing on the green development concept of the circular economy in relation to the company's advanced power battery recycling technology.

Topping off the tour was a trip to the yard operated by Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding, which specializes in the construction of large ships and offshore engineering equipment. There they were impressed by a giant 366-meter-long dual fuel container ship.
The students also participated in a kite festival event and visited the New Fourth Army Huangqiao Battle Memorial Hall on March 30.
