In a watershed moment, the 70,000-metric-ton general berth at Binjiang General Terminal, operated by Taixing Port Group, located in Taixing city, Jiangsu province, welcomed the berthing of the Panama-flagged dry bulk carrier the Harmony 13 on July 8.
It was the first foreign trade cargo ship to dock at the terminal since it obtained temporary approval for that use, marking the start of foreign trade vessel operations at the terminal.
To ensure the smooth berth and unloading of the first foreign ship, preparations were made well in advance, such as coordinating with all the ship's information, formulating detailed operations plans and maintaining the terminal's loading and unloading equipment.
The Binjiang General Terminal has two 70,000-ton general berths and three 1,000-ton bulk cargo berths, using 749 meters of the Yangtze River coastline.
In recent years, Taixing Port Group has continuously optimized its industrial structure and opened two 70,000-ton berths, the Jinyan Chemical Terminal and the Binjiang General Terminal, as well as two 30,000-ton berths.
