Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province has undertaken active moves to guide enterprises to adopt new technologies, processes and equipment in order to upgrade and transform themselves.

In the first half of the year, the city started 47 new technological transformation projects, including those involving capital increases, production expansions and equipment renewals, with a planned total investment of 5.8 billion yuan ($808.04 million).

One prime example of this is manufacturer Jiangsu Dwfulai Auto Parts, which specializes in the research and development, design, making and sales of automotive sunroof components. The company invested 100 million yuan in March to implement a smart panoramic sunroof technology renovation project.

In May, Taixing issued an implementation plan for promoting the technological transformation of resident enterprises. It showed that the city would make every effort to promote the development of new projects, strengthen land service guarantees, increase financial support and provide excellent business enterprise services to boost the regional industrial economy.

In the second half of the year, the city will guide enterprises to focus on high-end, intelligent and green development and continue to increase investment in technological transformation.

The overall goal is for the city to implement 100 technological transformation projects for manufacturers throughout the year.
