The water bureau of Taixing city in Jiangsu province has taken active moves to optimize its water rights exchange mechanism, in order to promote the optimal allocation and efficient utilization of water resources throughout the city.
It recently promoted the completion of the city's first water rights exchange between two enterprises, involving a water volume exceeding 130,000 cubic meters.
The buyer, Jiangsu Sanmu Logistics, and the seller, Jiangsu Sandie Chemical, both located in the Taixing Economic Development Zone, recently completed a surface water rights exchange order through the China Water Exchange, a national-level online water rights exchange platform.

The exchange period is from June 30 this year to Aug 27, 2027, at a charge of 12,308 yuan ($1,712).
The exchange optimizes the allocation of water resources and stimulates the enthusiasm of enterprises for water-saving technology transformations, transforming water-saving benefits into economic benefits.
The water rights exchanges of enterprises can also solve the problem of the imbalanced supply and demand of water resources, forcing enterprises to save water and promoting their high-quality development.
