The statistics bureau of Jiangsu province revealed the GDP figures for all 13 cities in Jiangsu during the first three quarters on Nov 10. Suzhou secured the top spot with a GDP approaching 2 trillion yuan ($281.74 billion), while Xuzhou and Huai'an jointly led in terms of growth rate at 6.0 percent.
Throughout the period, Jiangsu's overall GDP grew by 5.4 percent year-on-year. Among the 13 cities, seven outperformed the provincial average, and one matched it.
According to feedback from the statistical department, Taixing achieved a GDP of nearly 110 billion yuan in the first three quarters, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.6 percent. This performance places it first in Taizhou in terms of total GDP and second in terms of growth rate.
In terms of industrial structure, the primary sector contributed 3.38 billion yuan to Taixing's GDP, growing at a rate of 3.6 percent. The secondary sector added 56.8 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 4.1 percent. Meanwhile, the tertiary sector saw the highest growth, contributing 49.75 billion yuan and expanding at a rate of 7.6 percent.
This impressive economic performance underscores Taixing's robust economic development and its significant contributions to Taizhou's overall economy.
