The list of winners for the 2024 Jiangsu provincial science and technology awards has been announced, with three technological innovations from Taixing securing well-deserved accolades.
One of the award-winning projects, led by Runtai Chemical (Taixing), focuses on the development and industrialization of a novel, environmentally friendly film-forming additive for waterborne coatings.
Addressing ecological toxicity and total volatile organic compound (TVOC) environmental pollution issues associated with traditional additives, the team innovated a new molecular structure additive, RTC-295.
This breakthrough significantly reduces ecological and health toxicity, ensures TVOC emissions comply with standards, and enhances film-forming efficiency by over 10 percent.
Another project, spearheaded by Jiangsu Josun Air Conditioner, tackles challenges in monitoring accuracy, response speed, fault prediction, and energy consumption for offshore wind power environmental control systems.
It achieved full autonomy in core algorithms, key components, and complete system integration, securing 44 patents and software copyrights globally, providing crucial equipment support for China's offshore wind power development.
The last project, by Taixing Fuchang Solid Waste Treating, revolutionizes the full-component resource utilization of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) residues.
It overcomes high energy consumption, severe secondary pollution, and low product value issues, developing key technologies for utilizing organic acids, cobalt-manganese metals, and bromine-containing waste salts.
