In the heart of Jiangsu province, Taixing is making waves in the marine equipment manufacturing sector despite its inland location. As winter sets in, colossal vessels embark on their maiden voyages from Taixing's riverside, symbolizing the city's rise as a maritime powerhouse.

Taixing recently celebrated milestones with the delivery of Huaxia Dejing 108, a state-of-the-art submarine cable laying vessel boasting a 35,000-metric-ton displacement. Meanwhile, Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding handed over MSC LORENZA, the sixth 16,000-TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) container ship marking Taixing's leadership in building ultra-large container vessels.

Utilizing its river-based connectivity, Taixing has emerged as Taizhou's hub for marine economic activities, securing the top spot among non-coastal county-level cities in Jiangsu. By 2025, the city aims to have a marine industry output value of 18 billion yuan ($2.58 billion).

Strategic initiatives, including policy support for the real economy, project acceleration, and technological innovation, have fueled this growth. The shipbuilding and offshore engineering sector, accounting for nearly half of the marine industry, is moving toward the development of a world-class advanced manufacturing cluster.

At the center of this momentum is Taixing Urban Industrial Park, home to over 40 key enterprises and 150 supporting firms. Together, they have formed specialized clusters in marine cooling systems and environmental equipment. The city is also embracing digital transformation and green practices to elevate its shipbuilding prowess.

Looking ahead, Taixing is set to expand into high-tech vessel segments and foster emerging marine services, forging a modern, innovative marine industry ecosystem.
