Taixing, a county-level city in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, has unveiled its economic blueprint for the coming five years, targeting annual GDP growth above 5 percent and aiming to push total output past 200 billion yuan ($29.48 billion) by the end of the period.

The development plan for the next five years positions Taixing as an advanced manufacturing base along the Yangtze River, a hub for cross-river integrated development, and a regional center for resource allocation. The city aims to build a modern industrial system with industrial sales reaching 320 billion yuan and the service sector accounting for 46 percent of GDP.

Key targets also include raising R&D spending to 3.15 percent of GDP, increasing the number of national high-tech enterprises to more than 500, and attracting $1 billion in foreign investment. Trade volumes are expected to reach $28 billion, while per capita disposable income should keep pace with economic growth.

Environmental goals are part of the plan as well. Taixing commits to meeting provincial standards for air quality and water cleanliness.
