Huangqiao Economic Development Zone's modern agriculture sector is transforming local crops into high-value products through the use of advanced technology.
In clean, standardized laboratories, researchers formulate new beverage recipes featuring Taixing specialties such as ginkgo nuts and pears. The zone has partnered with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences to establish the China (Taixing) Agri-Product Future Processing Innovation Research Institute, embedding labs directly within the industrial chain. The approach connects each stage of the innovation process: enterprises identify their needs, experts develop solutions, support platforms provide resources, and the results are put into production.
On the factory floor, intelligent production lines at Jiangsu Baihui Agricultural Development connect ordering, packaging, shipping and ERP management into a seamless system, boosting efficiency and extending shelf life while enabling full product traceability.
Over the past five years, enterprises within the zone have secured 42 invention patents. High-tech industrial output now accounts for nearly 30 percent of total production. The zone has cultivated 12 high-tech enterprises, five specialized firms, five provincial green factories and 13 smart factories.
The zone is also working to boost talent development. Night schools offer hands-on training in AI applications, data analytics and quality control, supported by subsidies for skills and education upgrades. Several workers have earned provincial labor honors for technical innovations.
As Taixing advances its "333" modern industrial framework — enhancing three clusters of distinctive, advantageous industries, developing three strategic emerging sub-sectors, and planning for three future industries, the zone aims to expand its fresh food cluster by deepening digital transformation and strengthening innovation.
