Ma Aiyun, a senior engineer at Jiangsu Yongsheng Air Conditioner, has spent 16 years designing bespoke climate-control systems for some of China's most demanding national projects. From lunar exploration missions and naval vessels to offshore oil platforms and the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center in Hainan province, her custom-built units are deployed where failure is not an option.

"Every project starts from scratch," Ma says. With each application presenting unique environmental challenges, she and her team built a comprehensive design framework from the ground up, relying solely on original technology to fill critical gaps in the domestic market.
Her temperature- and humidity-controlled rotary air purification systems and satellite fairing air-conditioning units have supported every launch at Wenchang.
Her work is defined by unmatched precision. Optimizing a condenser baffle involved testing height variations of just millimeters over the course of two years to cut weight without sacrificing performance. For maritime equipment, she engineered corrosion-resistant systems capable of operating unmanned in punishing high-salt, high-humidity conditions.
As one of the few female R&D engineers in China's heavy machinery sector, Ma holds multiple invention and utility model patents. Her products generate 12 million yuan ($1.78 million) in annual sales, backed by thank-you letters from major national clients. As she looks ahead, Ma remains committed to pushing her designs further.
