The Taixing High-tech Zone is located in the eastern part of the main urban area of Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, with a planned area of 28 square kilometers.
The development of the zone, which was established in 2008, has been laid out as a modern industrial system.
This is led by energy conservation and environmental protection, new energy and new materials, intelligent manufacturing and technology service sectors, all striving to enhance the core competitiveness of talent, technology and innovation.
The energy conservation and environmental protection industry mainly develops technology research and development, equipment manufacturing and consulting services in the areas of water, solid waste and flue gas treatments.
For its part, the new energy and new material industry is constructing an entire industry supply chain. This covers efficient solar cells, equipment manufacturing, efficient photovoltaic modules and the development and operations of power stations, with the establishment of the Academician Innovation Center for New Optoelectronic Display Materials.
The intelligent manufacturing industry focuses on developing related support industries including semiconductors equipment, automotive parts and high-end reducers. It has established public technology research and development platforms, including the Semiconductor Advanced Ceramic Materials Research Institute.
The technology service industry mainly develops the headquarters economy, inspections and testing and technology funding, as well as lifestyle service industries, such as the leisure and entertainment sectors.
The zone has implemented a system for the cultivation of various levels of businesses, including gazelle enterprises and leading enterprises. It is currently home to 99 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, 51 national high-tech enterprises and 18 provincial-level or above specialized and sophisticated enterprises that produce novel and unique innovative products.
In 2024, the zone generated industrial invoice sales of 14.87 billion yuan ($2.05 billion), a year-on-year increase of 10.6 percent.
