The Taixing High-tech Zone, located in eastern urban area of Taixing, Jiangsu province, was established in 2008. With a planned area of 28 square kilometers, it was approved to establish a provincial-level high-tech zone in 2016.
The zone has successively been recognized as a national pilot park for environmental protection service industry, Chinese industry-university-research cooperation innovation demonstration base, national small and micro enterprise innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base, national eco-environment-oriented development (EOD) model pilot area, national ecological environment science popularization base, and national green industrial park.
It has also been approved as a provincial intellectual property pilot demonstration park, provincial e-commerce demonstration base, provincial industrial tourism demonstration zone, provincial small and medium-sized enterprise characteristic industry cluster, provincial modern service industry high-quality development agglomeration demonstration zone, and more.
With the goals of becoming an innovation special zone in Taixing and model zone for the integration of industry and city, the zone has laid out a "3+1" modern industrial system dominated by energy conservation and environmental protection, new energy and new materials, intelligent manufacturing, and modern service industries.
The energy conservation and environmental protection industry mainly focuses on technology research and development, equipment manufacturing, and consulting services in the fields of water, solid waste, and flue gas treatment. The new energy and new materials industry focuses on efficient solar cells production, equipment manufacturing, efficient photovoltaic modules production, and power station development and operation. The intelligent manufacturing industry focuses on developing related supporting industries such as semiconductor equipment, automotive components, and high-end reducers. The modern service industry mainly focuses on productive service industries such as headquarters economy, inspection and testing, technology and finance, as well as lifestyle service industries such as leisure and entertainment.
By building platforms and carriers for scientific and technological innovation, including an offshore innovation center, a headquarters economic center, and an inspection and testing industrial park, the zone has attracted many high-level talents and advanced projects.
To date, the zone has attracted 864 high-level talents, including 33 national level talents and 399 with doctoral degrees.
The zone is now home to 99 technology-based SMEs, 51 national high-tech enterprises, and 18 provincial-level or above specialized and sophisticated enterprises, which produce new and unique products.
