The Xinghua Economic Development Zone in Xinghua city, administered by Taizhou in Jiangsu province, has been honored as a green industrial park due to the continuous efforts it has made to improve its green manufacturing system.

This is according to a list released recently by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in line with the country's dual carbon goals of seeing carbon dioxide emissions peak by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.

Founded in 1992, the zone was approved as a provincial-level EDZ by the Jiangsu government within a year.

With a land area covering 40 square kilometers, the zone established cooperation with the China National Food Industry Association in 2017, helping to cement its strong reputation in the food sector.

In 2018, it was awarded the title of "China Health Food Industry Innovation Base" and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Agricultural University.

This year, the zone has jointly established an offshore incubation center with Jiangnan University.
