Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province made a strong presence at the first phase of the 135th China Import and Export Fair, or Canton Fair – held from April 15-19, with 146 of its businesses taking part.

On the opening day alone, Taizhou enterprises attracted over 400 potential buyers and sealed deals worth a total of $6.29 million.

Yuehai Machinery Manufacturing Co Ltd, a Taizhou based small enterprise specializing liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, made a great debut, landing a $1.1 million contract with an Australian client.

Jiangsu Dongqing CNC Machine Tool Co Ltd, a high-tech company, attracted attention with its machining centers and CNC milling machines, securing a $56,000 deal on the opening day.

Veteran exhibitor Jiangsu Shangqi Group prepared diligently, adding more staff to its stand and launching online streaming to attract more buyers. Its hydraulic micro loader, meeting international standards, was a standout this year.
