Taizhou city shines at Canton Fair, signing deals worth $50m

Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province really excelled at the recent 135th China Import and Export Fair, or the Canton Fair, raking in millions of dollars of business deals.

With 146 companies occupying 240 stands and attracting about 9,000 buyers from around the world, the city recorded transactions worth a whopping $50 million.

During the first phase of the fair, Taizhou featured 64 companies exhibiting household appliances, hardware, tools, construction machinery, automotive parts, new energy products, motorcycles, processing machinery, electronic consumer goods and information products.

Their 104 stands attracted nearly 4,000 buyers, resulting in deals exceeding $20 million.

During the second phase, Taizhou showcased building and decorative materials, kitchenware, household items, gifts, festive products, home decorations, gardening supplies, bathroom equipment and furniture.

Represented by 38 companies and 50 stands, transactions topped $13 million.

In the third phase, Taizhou exhibited clothing for men and women, clothing accessories, personal care products, bathroom supplies, pet products, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, office supplies, sports and leisure products, toys and luggage.

With 52 participating companies occupying 86 booths, transactions topped $17 million.

Tang Chi, president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Taizhou branch, was delighted with the results. He emphasized the increasing importance of the Canton Fair for Taizhou's foreign trade enterprises – signaling an overall growing level confidence – and highlighted the rising recognition of the "Made in Taizhou" brand globally.

Tang underscored the Canton Fair's role in facilitating orders and market insights for foreign trade enterprises, expressing their commitment to continue to organize company participation.

He also mentioned the ongoing applications process for exhibition stands for the 136th Canton Fair, saying the Taizhou delegation was dedicated to providing enhanced services to assist companies in their preparations.
