The People's Court of Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone – a zone also known as the Gaogang district of Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province – was recently conferred with the standing of National Excellent Court, granted by the Supreme People's Court in Beijing.
It's come in the wake of moves by the People's Court of Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone to accelerate the pace of its trial mechanism and modernization capacity since 2017, while it has taken active moves to participate in regional social governance.
The court has served the development of Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone. Moreover, it has undertaken the trial of cases involving health and medical areas, financial services and other projects, to guarantee the progress of major urban construction projects.
What's more, it has also optimized the business ecosystem to maintain market rules. The court is widely said to have succeeded in hearing and concluding the first personal bankruptcy case in Taizhou – and the pilot experience was promoted by the provincial and municipal political and legal committees.
The court is understood to have also made contributions to the development of an eco-friendly and beautiful Taizhou. Some 103 environmental resource cases have been heard and various types of environmental pollution crimes have been dealt with in a precise manner.
Furthermore, while retaining the precept that the people come first, the court has striven to protect and improve the security and happiness of citizens.
More than 870,000 yuan ($126,859) of legal costs have been suspended, reduced or waived for people in difficulty, while 564,000-yuan worth of judicial assistance has been provided to groups in need.
