Baima town inside the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, is known as the birthplace of the Chinese Navy.

In February 2005, the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government decided to set up "a medical industry park and a Chinese medical city" in Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – after thorough research.
