An innovative salary distribution system in the Taizhou Medical High Tech Zone – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently got approval in the provincial guidelines, which will be officially implemented on May 1.
Under the system, enterprises distribute salaries to employees based on their position evaluation, ability level, job performance assessments and other factors.
It focuses on the idea that more pay is given for more work, for skilled people and for great contributors.
Also, it points out that employees can conduct collective bargaining with their enterprises on matters such as technological innovation and levels of income.
Sheng Hui, a staff member in Taizhou Letai Food Co Ltd, has benefited from the system and her income has steadily increased.
Through collective bargaining, the company has provided more benefits to female staff. It has offered a one-time subsidy to women workers who have obtained a graduation certificate and conducts annual medical checkups of them.
Elsewhere, Jiangsu Nari Turbo Star Electric Co Ltd holds labor competitions regularly, to encourage more staff to learn professional skills.
The Taizhou Medical High Tech Zone initiated the system in 2019 and currently over 80 enterprises there are using it.
