In recent years, the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, also known as Gaogang district – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – has invested a great deal in installing smart equipment to guarantee school safety.

To date, 3,802 high-definition monitoring devices have been installed in schools in the zone, with functions for retaining images in real-time and sounding alarms to avoid large gatherings of people.

In the key areas of hazardous chemical warehouses, school entrance areas and canteens, the storage time of monitoring videos exceeds 90 days.

What's more, 73 schools in the zone have adopted electronic fences and alarm cameras to prevent unauthorized intrusions.

At Xuzhuang Primary School, smart technologies such as face recognition, vehicle recognition, as well as a one-click alarm, have been applied to further improve its safety.

Meanwhile, moves have been made to enhance the safety awareness of students, with safety practices for fires, earthquakes and traffic protection drills being conducted. Besides the school, the general public and families are also being encouraged to join the safety education network to guarantee the safety of students.
