A distinguished delegation from the east African nation of Zimbabwe recently visited Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province.
National Biotechnology Authority of Zimbabwe CEO and registrar Deckster Tonny Savadye led the party, on a study visit designed to strengthen bilateral ties and promote cooperation in the field of endeavor.

The delegates were received by Taizhou Mayor Wan Wenhua, who highlighted the city's active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and expressed her desire to expand commerce and trade with Zimbabwe.
Wan acknowledged the collaboration between the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, or the ICGEB and China Medical City – a national high-tech zone in Taizhou – and called on the visit to enhance bilateral economic and trade relations.

Deckster Tonny Savadye expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and lauded China Medical City's development.
He highlighted the potential for cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry and expressed his desire to learn from China Medical City's development experience.
During the visit, the NBA of Zimbabwe signed a cooperation memorandum with the ICGEB China Regional Research Center and Jiangsu Recbio Technology Co Ltd.
As a result, they'll collaborate on training, clinical trials and production in vaccines and other areas.
The accord is said to mark a new start for Taizhou and Zimbabwe in the field of health and hopes are that it will represent another achievement for the Belt and Road Initiative in Africa.
