Diaopu Street, located in the Gaogang district of East China's Jiangsu province, holds a fascinating history.

Once known as the Diao Family Ferry, this street finds itself near the Nanba Bridge, a significant battleground in the clash between the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) and the Jin Dynasty.

According to legend, Diaopu's residents played a pivotal role in aiding the army of Yue Fei, a courageous general of the Southern Song Dynasty, who led his troops in a valiant battle against the invading Jin army.

The people of Diaopu provided the army with mutton and used sheep products to create warm clothing and medicinal aids. Their support proved vital in the army's triumphant victory.

In the present day, Diaopu proudly carries on its traditional of producing mutton and related goods. This dedication has resulted in the creation of mouthwatering lamb dishes that have garnered the affection of both residents and foreign visitors.
