The Longfengtang Industrial Tourism Zone – located in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is recognized as a provincial-level industrial tourism area.
It was established with the support of Jiangsu Longfengtang Chinese Medicine Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group.
Industrial tourism, as a product of industrial integration, is an extension of the industrial chain and is an innovation of the tourism sector model.
The Longfengtang Industrial Tourism Zone is a comprehensive park. It covers, among other things, the development of Chinese medicinal materials, the research and development, production, sales and logistics of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations.
In recent years, in line with the industrial tourism development model – integrating traditional Chinese medicine, culture, technology, health care and tourism – the Longfengtang Industrial Tourism Zone has established a number of tourist attractions. These offer traditional Chinese medicine cultural heritage and industrial tourism viewing experiences.
