The Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – fully boosted its effective investment and accelerated its industrial upgrading in 2023, leading to the scale of its health industry surpassing 120 billion yuan ($16.73 billion).
Great efforts have been made by the zone to build a leading biopharmaceutical industry that has a national influence, and it's estimated that the scale of the zone's health industry now accounts for over 40 percent of the city's total health sector.
The zone advanced the signing and construction of major projects in 2023. One of them, an integrated energy storage battery and systems plant being operated by the Shenghong Group – with a total investment of 12 billion yuan – realized the project signing, groundbreaking and start of production in the same year.
Moreover, the zone has cumulatively released support funds of 417 million yuan for enterprises, reducing taxes and fees by 2.31 billion yuan for various market entities.
