A beautiful navigation lock construction project for Zhoushan River, located in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, recently received important recognition.
It was included on the list of demonstration cases for the construction of the third batch of modern transportation demonstration zones in the province.
An important part of the infrastructure in Taizhou, the Zhoushan River navigation lock handles an average of 66,000 ships that pass through it annually.
In response to the construction of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt and the Yangtze River National Cultural Park, the Zhoushan River navigation lock launched the beautiful construction project in April 2023.

With a designed area of 38,600 square meters, the project offers a city public space that integrates exhibition of shipping culture, waterfront recreation facilities, tourism sightseeing, science popularization and education activities and more.
The beautiful construction project has developed the first construction standard of its kind in the province. The standard specifies the technical requirements for landscape culture, engineering facilities, environmental protection, service improvements, operations and maintenance management, as well as safety management.
