Residents of Taizhou city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, can now enjoy premium medical services from Shanghai, right on their doorsteps.
That's after Wang Zhong, a professor and doctor from Shanghai Pudong New Area Gongli Hospital established a studio in the Taizhou City Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine on May 10.
This opened up a convenient and high-quality new channel for local patients to seek top medical treatment.
An apprenticeship ceremony was also held, where two young physicians – Xia Wanqing and Yin Jiabao – demonstrating apprenticeship etiquette to Wang.
After the ceremony, the expert team engaged in a free clinic and conducted ward rounds.

A delighted local who came to seek medical treatment said: "I don't have to travel to Shanghai to see a doctor anymore in the future and I can get treatment from Shanghai's top experts on my doorstep. This is really great!"
Looking ahead, plans are for Taizhou City Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and Wang's studio to improve medical service levels, innovate medical service modes and carry out different services such as remote consultations to benefit more patients.
