This year, the market supervision bureau of the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, Taizhou city, Jiangsu province, is working to transform intellectual property into capital value, providing stable financial support for the long-term growth of local enterprises.
In 2022, the bureau began exploring financial innovation related to intellectual property in the city. It has established the Big Health Industry Intellectual Property Alliance, Taizhou Intellectual Property Application Promotion Center, built a communication platform for the government, banks, and enterprises, and launched intellectual property pledge loans to help enterprises expand financing channels and reduce financing costs.

This year, the bureau has made a breakthrough attempt to improve intellectual property pledges.
In response to insufficient bank credit lines for certain enterprises, the bureau has launched a patent pledge registration model allowing patents to be transferred between enterprises. For example, Taizhou Yongjian Intelligent Equipment Technology pledged its patents to Taizhou Allston Biotechnology in return for a loan from Allston, eliminating the intermediate process of bank approval.
The bureau also provides follow-up services, helping enterprises that have obtained pledged financing to apply for interest subsidies.
In the first half of this year, the bureau collected financing needs from 82 enterprises, of which 43 have completed financing, with a total amount exceeding 300 million yuan ($41.73 million).
