The newly built super large dual-fuel container ship Seaboard Viking, equipped with the world's largest vertical LNG fuel tank, set sail on Aug 22.
Built by Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding Engineering in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone of Taizhou, Jiangsu province, the ship is the fifth in its dual-fuel container series. Designed for a German shipowner, it can carry up to 3,500 TEUs.
The ship is 248 meters in length and 35.2 meters in width. It is equipped with the world's largest vertical LNG fuel tank and is the largest container ship ever built in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone.

The construction of the 3,500-TEU dual-fuel container ship series marks the entry of Taizhou's shipbuilding industry into the international high-end market. This type of ship meets the latest international environmental regulations and leads the world in terms of versatility, economic viability of operation, and safety.
At the delivery ceremony, Sanfu also announced that it had signed construction contracts for the 7th and 8th ships of this type with the shipowner.
