At Nestlé Health Science China's production workshop in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, a batch of Isosource@ series full nutrition formula special medical food labeled with EU standards is about to be shipped to European countries such as Germany and Italy.
The series is a full nutrition formula special medical food developed by the company for the European market, suitable for people with basic digestive and absorption functions but are malnourished or at risk of malnutrition.
In April, due to the challenging international situation, the EU supplier of one of the core raw materials for this series — medium chain triglycerides — suddenly halted supply. At that time, there were only four months left until the delivery of the EU order.
In response, the Taizhou zone's key variety listing service team joined forces with the provincial special medical formula food quality inspection center to select three enterprises from more than 20 domestic suppliers whose processes and standards are consistent with the original supplier.
Local supervisors also provided numerous services, from optimizing the layout of the clean room according to the strictest global standards during the drawing design phase to interpreting the EU's special medical food testing standards in real-time during the production process to emergency screening of supply chain resources.
It is estimated that the production capacity of this series will reach 4,000 metric tons by 2026, and sales revenue is expected to exceed 600 million yuan ($84.03 million).
