Crabs are an autumn stable, and river crabs cultivated in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, are about to hit the market.
Zonglin village in Huzhuang town has over 66.67 hectares of crab ponds and is home to over 20 crab breeding farmers.
Crab farmers use water from the Yangtze River to raise the crabs, and with daily care, they become plump and develop an especially delicious taste.

Cao Sujuan, an official of Zonglin village, said that in recent years, crabs cultivated in the village have been recognized as "national famous and excellent new agricultural products", and the crabs have been sold well in major cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing, and Harbin.
Chen Jianjun, a local crab farmer, said that to cope with high temperatures, his breeding base has introduced intelligent oxygenation equipment, which can be remotely controlled through a mobile phone to create an all-day, underwater, air-conditioned room for crabs.
Chen has also been cleaning up decaying aquatic plants and replanting them in sparse areas daily in order to strictly keep the coverage of aquatic plants within 50 percent to 60 percent and ensure the best possible environment for raising crabs.
