A joint supervision mechanism for special goods entering and leaving the country was recently implemented in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, located in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province.
It is estimated that it will reduce the clearance time for special items entering and leaving the country by 95 percent, effectively solving the customs clearance bottleneck for biopharmaceutical enterprises.
Taizhou has become the third city in the province to implement the mechanism after Suzhou and Nanjing.
Under the existing system, special items such as biomedicine require multiple clearance processes and long cycles.
Under the new system, a joint supervision mechanism relies on a joint supervision information platform to implement enterprise credit risk classification management and real-time sharing of regulatory information, which can bolster targeted supervision.
A whitelist system will also be established. Under it, included business enterprises can enjoy on-demand evaluations and their regular items will be exempt from repeated evaluation for a three-year initial period.
