The Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, achieved some eye-catching performances in terms of boosting consumption during the just-concluded Spring Festival Holiday.
During the break, more than 10 consumer promotion activities were launched, driving the continuous heating-up of the consumer market with a range of discounts. The sales revenue of the nine key monitored commercial and trade businesses hit 112 million yuan ($16.37 million), an increase of 7.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
Every morning during the holiday, there were long queues at various zaocha, or early breakfast tea, shops, confirming their sustained popularity.

During the holiday, the hotel booking rate in key business districts across the zone exceeded 70 percent, with peak days seeing this shoot past 85 percent.
The MixC shopping mall, as a core commercial area in the zone, launched attractive promotional activities such as discounts and giveaways. From Feb 16 to 23, The mall's revenue and passenger flow reached 75 million yuan and 750,000, respectively, marking year-on-year increases of 10 percent and 8 percent.
