In the past five years, the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, has achieved impressive results in industrial development.
During the period, it added a total of 25 major provincial projects, broke ground 444 new projects worth over 100 million yuan ($14.78 million) each, completed 345 completed projects, and saw 225 projects put into operation.
As 2026 marks the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), the zone has adjusted its focus on project attraction and construction. It no longer only pursues the number of projects and investment volume, but instead focuses on the quality of the industry and economic output.
Since the beginning of this year, there have been 67 signed, 56 started, and 65 completed projects worth over 100 million yuan in the zone.
This year, the zone will strive to sign 200 new projects worth over 100 million yuan each, 12 new projects worth over 1 billion yuan each, break ground on 60 new municipal-level key projects, and complete the construction of 40 new municipal-level key projects.
