The development of Hailing district – administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – has achieved historic leapfrog development over the last 10 years, according to a news conference held there on Sept 14.

During the decade, Hailing has formed a "1+2+3" modern industrial system. The "1" refers to the new energy industry, "2" refers to auto parts and intelligent home appliances and "3" refers to new materials, the smart home and the new generation of information technology.

In 2021, the district's total output value generated by manufacturers above a designated size – companies with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more – reached 60.58 billion yuan, up 26.2 percent year-on-year.

The output value of the district's strategic emerging industries increased by 31 percent year-on-year, accounting for 48.7 percent of the district's total output value of manufacturers above a designated size.

Hailing has also striven to improve people's quality of life. Per capita disposable income of urban residents has risen from 27,500 yuan to 56,000 yuan in past 10 years.
