The Hailing district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province, has been streamlining its government services to improve the community spirit and the levels of satisfaction of local companies and residents.

In May, Hailing's first "government service direct bus" – carrying over 30 administrative window staff from 10 departments – headed to remote Huagang town to offer approvals services to locals.

In the current year, the district has served over 800 people by offering government services and providing over 20 on-site services to companies – winning praise from grateful companies and members of the public for handling their affairs.

To help shorten the processing times, Hailing has created a one-stop service for individuals for business registrations. This includes policy consultations, business guidance and assistance and agency services.

An offline + online follow-up mechanism has also been established to accept feedback from the public.

What's more, Hailing has introduced processing windows to handle matters when people are dissatisfied with things or unable to complete their affairs.

Since their establishment, the windows have provided telephone follow-up services to 601 people and addressed 56 issues reported by enterprises and the public.
