The Hailing district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – recently received a significant boost when it was recognized as a provincial-level demonstration area for promoting the integrated development of the cultural and tourism sectors.

As the central urban area of Taizhou, Hailing district is a cultural precinct with a recorded history spanning over 2,100 years. It boasts over 30 tourist attractions such as the Fengcheng River – one of the most intact ancient rivers – and a famous landmark known as the Wanghai Pavilion.

Dedicated efforts have been made by Hailing to boost its integrated development of tourism and culture. Cultural tourism complexes, for example, are now emerging in the district – offering cultural creative activities, entertainment, vacations and fun leisure time.

To improve customer experiences further, Hailing has introduced full coverage of free Wi-Fi in tourist areas and "one card access" for 4A level and above tourist attractions throughout the region.

Moreover, it has strengthened joint supervision of the development of cultural and tourism industries. It has also increased safety inspections to identify hidden dangers in cultural, sports and tourism places and held training and emergency drills in cultural spaces and scenic spots many times.
